Gran Gran (on the phone): Riley, I'm so looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!
R: Where are you looking?
----------------------
I've been reflecting a lot lately at how I treat people, how I act, the things I say, the things I do, etc. Just generally trying to plant, sprout and grow more love in my life so I can be a better mom, wife, daughter, friend, sister, manager, etc.

I love this exercise from Francis Chan's book, Crazy Love:
He asks us to read 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7:
Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy, love does not boast, love is not proud. Love is not rude, love is not self-seeking, love is not easily angered, love keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Then he says:
“Take the phrase Love is patient and substitute your name for the word love (For me, 'Francis is patient…') Do it for every phrase in the passage."
Try this right now.
Are you humbled?
I have a hard time getting past "Mary Beth is patient."
As Francis says, "By the end, don’t you feel like a liar? If I am meant to represent what love is, then I often fail to love people well."
I'm going to print this scripture out and keep it with me as a reminder each day in March. Let me know if you do the same and if it made a difference.
Bring on springtime love!
